My story

Do you want to create a career that lets you have the life you want to live?

I did too. But growing up in rural Louisiana in a family of farmers, mechanics and teachers, I had a limited view of what was actually possible beyond the standard 9-5.

Breaking Out of a Home Town Rut

Most people stay in their home town because it’s safe and comfortable. Other people yearn to see more and know more.

I moved to New Orleans and became the community manager of a coworking space called Launch Pad. I got to spend time with geniuses who ran businesses from their computers, making great money and traveling the world whenever they wanted.

I realized I wanted to do that, too.

Gaining Confidence that You Can Make It On Your Own

It didn’t require any special “talent” to be able to do this kind of work – it took HUSTLE.

And I knew I could do it.

So I created a “job” for myself that soon became a successful local business. But even then, this new job still had me tied to my computer, and it felt like instead of having one boss, I had 10 very demanding clients contacting me all the time.

Work Smarter, Not Harder

I’ve always worked hard. But when you run your own business, you’ve also got to work smart.

The best way to do that is to do one thing exceptionally well (i.e. pick a niche). I chose lawyers as my niche because they were my best clients.

Then, I discovered a way to turn my small local marketing agency into a remote agency that serves clients nationally.

Cracking the Code to Becoming a Digital Nomad

And that’s how the idea for Remote Hustle was born.

My journey was long and included a lot of hard (and expensive) lessons.

But it didn’t have to be.

That’s why I want to help others save time and money on their own journey, by sharing tips, strategies, and lessons of my own (and by others who have had success building remote businesses).
