Whether you’re a remote worker, running a freelance business, or launching a startup, you might need a coworking space to get your creative juices running.

The St. Petersburg area of Florida has several coworking spaces up and running with more being built every day! 

I have found that most offer:

• “open floor co-working” areas (a temporary spot for those digital nomads) 
• permanent desks (often with mailbox privileges for freelancers) 
• private offices (for teams that need their own space)

So for the past few weeks I’ve been visiting various coworking spaces and coffee shops around St. Petersburg (and will continue to update this list as I check out more).

I’m evaluating each spot based on these factors:

• work space accommodations (for the productivity aspect) 
• Meeting options (phone booths, conference rooms, etc)
• Volume level
• Perks and overall “wow” factor
• Parking 
• Community (events / networking / meetups)
• Price

Without further ado, here are my favorites!

433 Central Ave, 4th Floor, St. Petersburg, FL 33701

($25 drop-in rate, street parking, easy check in)

This one is my top choice! Rising Tides is a prime, cutting-edge coworking space combining inspiring interiors with a dedicated support system. They believe bringing different people together fosters better productivity and increases work-life satisfaction. It’s also female-founded by the owners of Fletcher and Fischer law firm, with the purpose of encouraging the connection of small business owners and entrepreneurs in St. Pete.

With ToastMaster events and lunch & learns led by industry experts, they are constantly working to make success more accessible. They offer flexible plans, drop-in rates, virtual offices, and executive offices for those who outgrow the coworking space. Plus if you decide you love it, you can sign up for membership and get 1 free hour per/month of legal advice from the founding moguls.

Perks: Being surrounded by PLANTS; the ability to snuggle up in a huge beanbag chair; sleek conference rooms with a blackboard wall; workshops; LBGTQ friendly (I love how inclusive it is!); FREE FREE FREE printing, coffee, snacks, fun sparkly water, and private conference rooms!!! 

260 1st Ave S., St Petersburg, FL 33701

($20 drop-in rate, street parking, easy DIY check in)

A coworking network in the heart of downtown St. Petersburg, The Station House offers a reasonable daily drop-in rate, a rustic coworking common area, & modern quiet work spaces for entrepreneurs and REMOTE HUSTLERS. From private offices and quiet workstations to their 5th floor “quiet zone,” they have the right size and style workspace for any needs. They also have a variety of meeting room spaces that can be rented for events and meetings. Whether you need a permanent place to work every day, a place to meet with a client, host a lunch & learn, or a place to drop in every once in a while and cowork, they have a work space for you. 

[Private “phone” or conference rooms start at $25 per/hour and up.]

Perks: Great location; delicious coffee shop in the lobby you can work from for free; ramen restaurant downstairs; easy street parking

2157 1st Ave S, St. Petersburg, FL 33712

(Gluten free & vegan friendly; zero-waste coffee shop; Wifi; pet-friendly)

Located in the Grand Central District downtown St. Petersburg, this zero-waste community coffee shop has a unique vibe that is artsy and welcoming.  Serving locally-roasted coffee from all over the world and featuring work by local artists, this spot was designed to encourage productivity and creativity. Wifi, indoor & outdoor seating, vegan & gluten free snacks and plants galore make this coffee shop on the top of my list for working remotely. 

475 2nd St N, St. Petersburg, FL 33701

Great coffee. Amazing croissants. Quick and friendly staff. With a great open floor plan, plenty of indoor & outdoor seating, and a decent selection of pastries and snacks, Kahwa coffee is the perfect location downtown St. Petersburg to plug in and get some work done.!

(Everything is Gluten Free + vegan friendly; Wifi; Pet friendly)

Love everything! Might be my favorite spot to get a little work done! 

Food and service are top-notch. Great for coffee. Great for breakfast or lunch. Very cool atmosphere! Gluten free food that is SO good, you wouldn’t know it’s gluten free. But the food options are plentiful, even for the picky people who aren’t vegan or GF or dairy free or fun free.

This one isn’t downtown St. Pete, but I’ll let them speak for themselves: “Eco-friendly, Flexible and Smart Work Environment Designed to Enhance Human Performance, Productivity and Wellbeing.”

Day Pass Amenities include: Free parking, 5 Credits to use on printing or booking conference rooms, unlimited high-speed internet, access to podcast studio, bike storage area, free organic coffee, tea and kombucha
